DELIVERING CIVILS, CONSTRUCTION AND FIT OUT WORKS AT HINCKLEY PARK

Starting with earthworks, private highways, drainage and other infrastructure works, Winvic began constructing the new 82-acre Hinckley Park for IM Properties in October 2018. Also contracted to design and construct the first two distribution warehouses, Winvic is currently completing S278 highways works (see Page 3) and has returned to the speculatively built and now let Unit 2 to fit it out.

Hub 5 completed for end user DPD in March 2020

A 276,500 sq ft parcel sortation facility with 7,500 sq ft hub office, which is the fifth parcel hub we have constructed for DPD

DPD’s superhub, that will handle around 70,000 parcels an hour, spans 39-acres or is about the size of 22 football pitches. Unusually for an industrial warehouse, it comprises 932,000 sq ft external yard space and is 502m in length and 40m wide, accommodating 271 bespoke dock frames. We constructed 60,500 sq ft of split-level mezzanine as part of the scheme; as some levels needed to support conveyor loads and multi-level conveyors, we designed the steel frame with suspended mezzanine floors, supported from roof structure, instead of traditional columns.

The fit out works that we are undertaking in Unit 2 comprise a three-storey mezzanine structure, totalling a floor area of over 500,000 sq ft, that has been designed to allow a fourth floor to be constructed later. Also included in the programme, which will be completed in June, is extensive mezzanine and high level racking as well as full fit out to the offices.
